Don’t make a single sound—or else.
When a Nigerian mum says, “If I hear pim!” it’s the ultimate warning to stay silent, with no further protests, complaints, or even a whisper. For example, if you’re trying to explain why you haven’t done your chores, and she interrupts with, “If I hear pim!” it’s her way of saying, “End of discussion; go and do it right now.” Even the slightest sound at this point could get you into deeper trouble.
